This passenger train is passing under the "Overview Trestle," a high dead-end trestle supporting a tail track for one leg of a switchback on a branchline to an upper level mine and timber area. The trestle is built using the weed stem pilings, stripwood, and some Atlas bridge components to span the lower mainline track which is entering a length of track that runs along a ledge above a deep canyon seen on the Durango-Silverton high line.
